Video decoding regression on Pinephone
Describe your issue
Some weeks ago pinephone devices was able to play smoothly videos from say youtube.com. It looks like the video decoding had a regression recently.
What's the expected behaviour?
mpving video from youtube, with youtube-dl as backend, was working very nicely. 720p videos was very smooth and we started to see sluttering on HD videos.
What's the current behaviour?
The video is very sluttering. Mpv is complaining :
Audio/Video desynchronisation detected! Possible reasons include too slow
hardware, temporary CPU spikes, broken drivers, and broken files. Audio
position will not match to the video (see A-V status field).
How to reproduce your issue?
On sxmo sway version, open a terminal and play a video :
$ cat .config/mpv/mpv.conf
[low]
ytdl-format=bestvideo[height>480][height<=720][fps>=25][fps<=30]+bestaudio/bestvideo[height<=480]+bestaudio/bestvideo[height<=720]+bestaudio/best[height<=720]
$ mpv --fs --profile=low https://yewtu.be/watch?v=AwKHmOSW_cg
