In the letter of motivation, to be attached, the candidates must demonstrate their interest in developing an entrepreneurial and innovative project in Portugal, to obtain an expression of interest in the project from at least one incubator. For the purpose it should be consider the following:

  1. The innovative nature of the project.
  2. The potential for growth.
  3. The scalability of the business in the market.
  4. The prospects of the setting up in Portugal, at the end of the program.

Q.17. What is the purpose of having sufficient funds in a bank account equivalent to 12 (twelve) times the Index of Social Support (IAS) mentioned in the requirements? A.17. The total amount works on a cumulative basis, representing the minimum amount per month and per person. This represents the value of the Index of Social Support (IAS) in Portugal for 12 (twelve) months, and ensures the subsistence of the entrepreneur in Portugal.

Index of Social Support (IAS)

It was published, December 11, 2023, the Ministerial Order no. 421/2023 that updates the amount of the Social Support Index (IAS) for the year 2024. The amount, which is currently EUR 480,43 (four hundred eighty euros and forty-three cents), will, with effects from January 1, 2024, be EUR 509,26 (five hundred nine euros and twenty-six cents), which corresponds to an increase of 6%.
