Buff the skill Ore Discovery
Increase activation chance of the blacksmith's skill Ore Discovery, following the 5x drop rate applied to regular loot. The increase may also be partial.
Ore Discovery (http://wiki.originsro.org/wiki/Ore_Discovery) is a skill that adds a small chance for an ore to be discovered once a monster is killed. For a server with 5x drop rate such as oRO, possessing such a skill in it's original form is of small use; the gathered ores are too few compared to the monster's own loot to make a real difference. In fact, the expected increase on the value of the overall loot broght by the Ore Discovery skill is up to 5 times smaller on oRO than it is on servers with original drop rates.
The following example ilustrates this:
Let's suppose a fictional monster called Originsring drops, at a 1x drop rate server, the item Jellopy (3z sell value) with a 10% chance. Also, that an alternative version of the skill Ore Discovery only discovers Iron Ores (25z sell value), with a 1% chance.
In this scenario, if two players – a knight and a blacksmith – were to farm this mob for it's loot and each killed a thousand Originsrings, the expected value of the overall loot gathered by each of them would be of 10000.13 = 300z for the knight and 1000(0.13 + 0.0125) = 550z* for the blacksmith. This consists in a expected increase of 550/300-100% = 83.3% provided by the Ore Discovery Skill.
Alternativelly, if the same scenario were to happen in a server with 5x drop rate like oRO, the expected values for the loots would be of 10000.53 = 1500z for the knight and 1000(0.53 + 0.0125) = 1750z* for the blacksmith, which would count for a 1750/1500-100% = 16.6% increase in value provided by the skill (5 times less).
With that in mind, the original version of the Ore Discovery skill does not have the same impact on oRO as it had on original classic servers and thus fails to establish a particular strength that blacksmiths were supposed to have over other classes. Furthermore, this goes against the oRO's principle of approaching original gameplay as much as possible.
