Allow for different orientations of the camera for motorised microscope
Feature request
Summary
The Microscope has clear cartesian motion axes, and the camera is orientated along the motion axes. However the illumination and the slide clips or slide holder are at 45 degrees to the motion axes, so placing as sample or moving it by hand on the stage can be confusing. For a manually operated microscope aligning to the cartesian fine motion control makes sense.
The Delta stage does not have cartesian axes, so it is not really possible without motor control and a conversion from the cartesian axes of motion requests to the steps of the three motors. The camera in the optics module is rotated so that the camera axes are aligned to the illumination position. There is an option in the Web App to select Delta stage to perform the conversion of x-y-z motion to steps of the three motors.
The Feature
For motorised Openflexure Microscopes one could use the delta stage optics modules so that placing a slide is more intuitive as it is aligned to the axes of the illumination dovetail and sample clips. This then needs an additional option in the Web App list where you can select the Delta stage motion to have an option to select a 45degree motion on the cartesian microscope.
Question: What is it called?
I have no idea what this should be called to make it clear. The drop-down list is already present so adding a third option with the formula for 45degree motion should be possible. What to call it so that it is clear what it does is less obvious.
