On this page, you will find general instructions on how to install a typical Occam server and web portal. There will be links throughout to help guide you through any additional installation that may be required and finally some links to extensions that you might find useful for your own installation.

## The Easy Route

The repository contains an easy `install.sh` script that will install Occam (and build anything it needs) automatically on most Linux systems. If that's you, then just try this:
```shell
./install.sh
```
And follow the instructions. Afterward, you can add the `bin` directory to your `PATH` variable and run Occam commands. The same applies to the `occam-web-client` which is the web-based client for Occam. Run `./install.sh` and then you can start a local web server with `./start.sh`. (after starting your daemon with `occam daemon start` or `occam daemon run`)
