aliases are case-insensitive, but manual says nothing about it
I discovered to my great surprise today that mutt treats aliases case-insenstively. E.g., say you'd already defined
alias FOO some-addy (Joe Schmoe)
Now hit 'm' to compose a message, and at the To: prompt, type foo
, hit return, and enter a subject if asked. I find myself in my $EDITOR, with the "To:" field filled in with Joe Schmoe <some-addy>
.
I would've expected it to say foo
, since I expected mutt to not recognize foo
as being the alias I defined in all caps.
Perhaps my expectations were ill-tuned :) But if so, I think alias case should be mentioned in the manual in section 3.5. Even if it's a bug in mutt, and it gets fixed so that aliases are case-sensitive, I still think case-sensitivity should be described in section 3.5 of the manual.
(My apologies if this is in the manual somewhere and I missed it.)
