Categorization of simulators
As an analyst, I want to easily differentiate between simulators with different behavior:
- Time-based: Simulators with persistent outputs that only rely on time-based stepping
- Event-based: Simulators with non-persistent outputs that expect an initial triggering by other simulators or external events and only use time-based stepping to complete the processing of these events
- Hybrid: Simulators with persistent and non-persistent outputs and/or the general usage of time- and event-based stepping
Thus, it's more simple to combine simulators to simulation scenarios in the correct way.
