Analyze new accounts by source channel
Goal
Better understand our new user acquisition by looking at historical user signups by source channel -- e.g. did the user come to Minds via search, another social media platform, a referral link, etc.,
What needs to be done
Improve the accuracy of the channel
column in our data tables. Some issues currently:
- The vast majority of signups have
no_data
as the channel -
organic_social
is too broad -- we should break out by site (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, etc.) -
minds.com
is too broad -- we should break out by page type (e.g. homepage, channel page, activity post page - A
referral
hasn't been measured for months
