(feat) Posting as a Page, not as an user (or a new user type)
Interesting suggestion from VanDammit here: https://www.minds.com/newsfeed/1344045223608586254
I think the best way to go about something like this, would be to just modify groups to be also useable in this way. Text of the post:
I don't know how much work it would take, but I think "Pages" would be a great feature for #BETTERMINDS. Description below:
"User Accounts" would be direct accounts representing a individual.
"Pages" would be themed accounts representing topics, where one or more approved page admins are able to post.
I feel the most efficient way to implement this would be to basically copy the Groups feature and strip down permissions so that only admins can post (members can only follow).
The Structure should allow users to either:
- Log in as a user and manage the page
- Log in as the page, which will allow you to maintain the page but you would be unable to interact with other Minds users via friends requests or commenting on walls
The reason for this is that MOST spam bot accounts are topical in nature. So account, "Pics of African Handbags on the Beach" or whatever would be converted to a "Page." That account is free to spam pics but would be unable to interact, which would make it nearly impossible to token farm.
If the "page" elects to create an actual user account and give that user account admin rights, so be it.
