Implement Levels
Description:
When certain score levels are hit (either player reaches a breakpoint), the game should become more complicated. This makes the gameplay more fun, challenging, and less monotonous with an ever-changing pace
Each level increase may include:
- Another row of buttons to be pressed
- Increased points per round win
- More supporters gained per combo
Suggested Breakpoints
Level 1: default
- 1 row of buttons
- 1 point per round
- 1 supporter per combo (1 point each: total 1)
Level 2: Any player reaches 10 points
- 1 row of buttons
- 2 points per round
- 2 supporters per combo (2 points each: total 4)
Level 3: Any player reaches 25 points
- 2 rows of buttons
- 3 points per round
- 2 supporters per combo (3 points each: total 6)
Level 4: Any player reaches 50 points
- 2 rows of buttons
- 4 points per round
- 3 supporters per combo (4 points each: total 12)
Level 5: Any player reaches 75 points
- 3 rows of buttons
- 5 points per round
- 3 supporters per combo (5 points each: total 15)
Note: We'll want to be careful we don't overpower the levels. The goal is to speed up the pace of the game as it goes to avoid it dragging out, but its possible it will go too fast in the end. We won't know how it feels until we playtest!
