An option for tracking single reference animal is available in common map overview, when there is genetetic samples/detail selected.

The functionality works as an additional filter, where you select reference animal ID, and after applying the selection only the specimens for the selected reference animal are shown, ordered by date and connected with line. To return to the normal view, where all the samples are shown, you have to remove the selected reference animal (x icon in the dropbox) and apply the action.
