fix crash on startup if window was maximized

This fixes the root cause of #581 (closed)

I ran into a similar problem on Shotcut after migrating to Qt 6 where I was able to reproduce it on Linux and fix it. It turns out the same bug appeared in Glaxnimate on Windows! A daily build containing this change was confirmed by this user.
