Document \initialContextFrom
\initialContextFrom
enables using plain old sequential music ({ }
) to do something that is common in C++ iterators: setting the initial context for iteration based on given music, but sending other events in that context before iterating the given music.
There were two requests for documentation in !2027 (merged).
- Provide a comparative example showing results with and without
\initialContextFrom
. There is an example in the merge request that got the point across to the reviewers, but it includes some chaff that would be better not to put in a user manual. - Provide guidelines for LilyPond contributors about when to concern themselves with this.
