Description
The BRITE (BRIght-star Target Explorer) Nanosatellite Constellation is an international astronomy mission that makes photometric observations of some of the brightest stars.
The constellation is based on 6 satellites:
- UniBRITE (BRITE-U - CanX-3A)
- BRITE-Austria (BRITE-A - TUGSAT-1 - CanX-3B)
- BRITE-Lem (BRITE-PL 1)
- BRITE-Heweliush (BRITE-PL 2)
- BRITE-Toronto (BRITE-CA 1)
- BRITE-Montreal (BRITE-CA 2)
One of them, BRITE-CA 2 / BRITE-Montreal launched together with BRITE-CA 1 / BRITE-Toronto failed to separate after launch. The other 5 are operational.
