Document handling of discussion delays in consensus based decision making
This issue is based on discussions about "consensus-based decision making" of 8th and 10th of April 2024 during the Monday dependencies meeting and Morning get-together meeting timeframe, respectively. An initial proposal to amend the process and documentation has been modified and accepted through consensus. No members declared "objection, but tolerance"; thus no objections have been recorded, as part of the decision making.
Decision:
- A deadline for initiating discussions for reaching consensus when an objection has been raised shall always be defined
- The deadline shall be selected per-case, taking into account various aspects like (non-exhaustive list):
- the project timeline constraints
- the availability of people
- the impact of decision
- the dependencies of decision
- the importance of decision
- Refusal to participate or unjustified absence in discussions for reaching consensus shall be considered as "acceptance" for the decision making process.
