deactivating permutation in LDLT
Describe the feature you would like to be implemented.
offering a flag that allows LDLT for dense matrices without permutation; i.e., P=Id.
Would such a feature be useful for other users? Why?
Probably. Computing LLT is often faster than LDLT. But, computing the square-root has two principle issues:
- for some number types it causes issues (e.g., ambigous, ill-defined, undefined)
- it is unnecessary to compute
Any hints on how to implement the requested feature?
I will reasonably assume that LLT uses the exact same implementation as LDLT but with P=Id. Just skip the part where you take the square root, and that's it.
