Add Infineon CYPD3171, CYPD3174, CYPD3175 EZ-PD™ USB Type-C port controllers

Add the following symbols to Interface_USB:

  • CYPD3171-24LQXQ (QFN-24)
  • CYPD3174-16SXQ (SOIC-16)
  • CYPD3174-24LQXQ (QFN-24, extends CYPD3171-24LQXQ)
  • CYPD3175-24LQXQ (QFN-24, extends CYPD3175-24LQXQ)

All the above parts (except CYPD3174-16SXQ) functionally differ by having a different bootloader and internal termination resistors. As the symbol and pins remain the same they are derrived from each other.

CYPD3174-16SXQ has less pins than the rest of the ICs, so it gets a separate symbol with them removed.

All chips use standard packages, so no custom footprints are required.

I have deviated a little bit from S4.2 Pins should be grouped by function so that the chip can be more ergonomically used for it's intended purpose (see application diagram). Most likely the chip will have some kind of power source on the left and a Type-C socket on the right.

  • Remove the instructional content of this template
  • Provide a URL to a datasheet for the symbol(s) you are contributing
  • An example screenshot image is very helpful
  • Ensure that the associated footprints match the official footprint library
    • A new fitting footprint must be submitted if the library does not yet contain one.
  • If there are matching footprint PRs, provide link(s) as appropriate
  • Check the output of the automated check scripts - fix any errors as required
  • Give a reason behind any intentional library convention rule violation.
