Diode Pins Numbering
I see a lot of discussion regarding this in the KiCAD forums and I just found out the hard way after assembling my first prototype pcb that the numbering of the pins on a whole bunch of diode symbols still remains backwards despite many claiming this to be fixed back in 2016/2017. According to the forums, the standard is to have the cathode on pin 1 and anode on pin 2. From just a spot check of a few, it looks like the pspice and other generic symbols are still anode=pin1, cathode=pin2, whereas the actual manufacturer diodes are the opposite.
I say "backwards" because if you assign a TO-220 footprint with the "tab down" and assemble according to the 3d model, you'd end up with a reverse polarity diode in the physical circuit. I'm using this diode as a reference here.
I am using the symbol library from gitlab and on commit 40fab4f1 which looks to be from about a month ago.
