0.42" OLED Display with SSD1306 driver, 72x40 points.
This footprint will likely require some discussion.
I would like to add one or several footprints for a very common (on aliexpress) 0.42" monochrome OLED with 7472x40 point resolution and SSD1306 driver. Example "datasheet":

The display has a flex cable, which provides a number of mounting options:
- Cable and display straight, as pictured
- Cable bent 180°, display folded over
- Cable bent around a board edge (or through a board slit)
Due to my needs, I started by implementing option 2:
I am not sure whether option 1 (cable straight) is practical at all due to the cable length.
For option 3 (folded around board edge), the cable length depends on the board thickness, so this might be impractical.
IMO the following questions need to be discussed:
is the part with its various chinese sources specified closely enough?I would suggest something likeoled-042-ssd1306-74-40
as part name- apart from the pads and outlines on f.Silk I added the visible area of the display on F.Fab. Is that level of detail ok?
- which variants of the footprint should be created?
