Notes
-
Travis errors refer to footprint center. I used the center of the datasheet rather than the suggested in KLC. -
There are several manufacturers that produces this Tact Switch: - Diptronics (P/N: 1188E-1K2-V-TR)
- Switronic (P/N: IT-1188E-DD)
- ChipDip (P/N: SWT-1188E-1K2)
- Homyet (P/N: HY-1188E-H38)
For this reason, I've neglected the manufacturer in footprint name.
-
Should the courtyard encompass the tactile switch? Dear reviewer, please double check the courtyard, because I'm not confident about that. -
The switch pads are the number 3 and number 4, but the current symbol in KiCad library use pins 1 and 2. I need some guidance to make this footprint useful. For my personal use, I created a new symbol

The dimension 7 mm is missing in the aforementioned datasheet. This measure was taken from the datasheet from another manufacturer: http://www.yizhijia.com/Upload/30/IT-1188E-DD.jpg -
1188 and 1188E are the same footprint. To make the 1188 variant I just removed the NPTH holes and changed the description and 3dshape name. -
Must I append the sufix _Horizontal
to this footprint?
All contributions to the kicad library must follow the KiCad library convention
Thanks for creating a pull request to contribute to the KiCad libraries! To speed up integration of your PR, please check the following items:
-
Provide a URL to a datasheet for the footprint(s) you are contributing -
An example screenshot image is very helpful -
If there are matching symbol or 3D model pull requests, provide link(s) as appropriate -
Check the output of the Travis automated check scripts - fix any errors as required -
Give a reason behind any intentional library convention rule violation.
