@cpresser This is a followup to my manually created at kicad-footprints!3276 (merged).

I opted to go with slightly larger pads than the manufacturer's recommendation in X direction. I believe this will increase solderability and current handling capacity (since this is a 3A buck converter, there are significant currents involved): I have entered the correct lead_len (0.4mm) but regarding the lead width, I chose to enter 0.4mm instead of the 0.3mm actual lead width of the IC.

The Y pad size matches the manufacturer's recommendation (0.4mm). The X pad size is 0.8mm instead of the manufacturer's recommended 0.5mm. The exposed pad size matches the MFR recommendation exactly.
