GerbView does not add file extension when saving in "export to pcbnew"
I used GerbView to convert gerbers to pcbnew. (The gerbers were from sprintlayout). The pcbnew file did not show up in KiCad after I exported it. I expected it to show up in the main KiCad window. GerbView is not adding file extension to the filename. I renamed the file in a browser and it showed up in KiCad.
In retrospect, after writing the "steps to reproduce" below, I see that selecting folder location and filename is not done as the last step. By the time I have performed all the layer selections, I have forgotten what my filename extension was :)
Suggestions
- Handle file extensions automatically.
- Open the Layer Selection window before the file browser window.
Steps to reproduce
- Load gerbers in GerbView.
- Click "Export to pcbnew...".
- Browse to existing KiCad project. Enter the filename without ".kicad_pcb". Click Save.
- A window "Layer Selection" pops up. Do some selections and save.
