3D rendering not working reliably on AMD video card
I am having a problem that has been marked as fixed but seems to have been broken again. I don't know how to bring to your attention to reopen a bug report, so I have opted to write a new one. This issue is persistent on both Kicad 5 and Kicad 6 with a new AMD video card (WX2100 Pro) and every driver I installed for that card rolling back 2 years. The fix offered in the former bug report does not work for me, and is reported as not working for another user in that list from a year ago.
I will be requesting a different video card from my boss, so I won't be able to test this further.
Thanks -Brian
Description
3D viewer does not render the board correctly in OpenGL. Sometimes it will render it correctly once but upon closing and reopening the 3d window it will render it poorly. Only happens on the AMD WX2100 video card I tested it with. Works fine with onboard intel APU and with nvidia cards I used.
Steps to reproduce
- Open PCBNEW
- Alt + 3
- Close 3d render window
- alt + 3
