K20 ventilation masterplan and next steps
Working from previous issue #112 (closed)
This plan tries to fulfill these goals:
- no moist air is blown into the attic
- fresh, preheated air delivery
- minimize noise in ventilated rooms
Still unclear:
- how to control air inlets electrically?
- are there really two parallel chimneys at the garden side? so far we've only noticed it in the basement
- how can we connect two exhaust streams to the same heat exchanger?
Tasks should be done in this order:
remove fan that blows moist air into the attic, to prevent further condensation and mold growthinstall fan in the basement and pull moist airseal chimney opening in the atticpush most air out of the basement (need to buy pipe or build ducts)- build air inlets that can be controlled electrically (unclear task)
- build fresh air supply (need to buy lots of pipe and T-pieces)
- get a heat exchanger and connect it
- use the garden side chimney for air removal
- remove chimneys from roof and attic
Does this make sense to you? What should be clarified? Especially @NerdyProjects @DougInAMug @bodhi.neiser @djahnie
