Enable use of "fitdistrplus" package as alternative to "lmom"
From @tmparris :
I've used, fitidstrpus, a more robust package on other projects. It's more compute intensive, but offers some enhanced capabilities over lmom (and supports a broader set of distributions). https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/fitdistrplus/fitdistrplus.pdf
There are some challenges in using this package (beyond compute time). It often requires an initial guess of the fit (and aside for a limited number of distributions, leaves that as an exercise for the user). So, I've used lmom to get the initial guess and then refined it using fitdistrplus.
Would like to allow user to choose between accepting the lmom fit or a more robust fitdistrplus fit (which has several options). In my mind, the key options are:
- the fit method (maximum likelihood estimation, moment matching, quantile matching, and maximum goodness-of- fit estimation)
- bootstrapping
