Redream crashing on startup on RaspberryOS (64bit)
Hello,
Not sure why #1517 (closed) was closed by its original reporter, but I am experiencing this issue.
I used to be able to run Redream on my Raspberry Pi4 running Raspbian (32bit) using the old proprietary Broadcom drivers. Recently my SD card died, so I ended up having to reinstall my whole setup. I used this opportunity to fully switch to 64bit and install the latest version of the system, now called RaspberryOS. The latest version of the OS ships with newer open source drivers and strongly recommends not using the proprietary drivers which are deemed obsolete.
I got attract-mode to work just fine in KMS mode (albeit without MMAL acceleration for videos, which was a proprietary extension), same thing with RetroArch and Hypseus-Singe, unfortunately upon startup Redream crashes with the following message:
$ /usr/local/share/redream/redream
[INFO] SDL redream v1.5.0-1133-g03c2ae963 appdir=/usr/local/share/redream
[INFO] read /usr/local/share/redream/redream.cfg
[ERROR] SDL [/builds/inolen/redream-private/src/host/host_sdl.c:2275] Check failed: res >= 0
[/builds/inolen/redream-private/src/host/host_sdl.c:2275] host_init sdl initialization failed: No available video device
I've tried setting --debug to various value but am not getting any additional output.
I'm available for more testing if needed. Thanks!
