Draft: Outreachy'21 - Inkscape: On-canvas Align and Distribute Upgrade

Project Description

The current align and distribute tool provides for simple selection based align and distribute single actions. Inkscape would be improved to be able to offer a more dynamic on-canvas align and distribute tool using mouse actions, placement and dragging as ways objects are translated (moved) but not transformed (resized, skewed, rotated). This project involves developing all the requires functionality as well as cleaning up any code which this might touch.

Goals

• The design for this project is to modify the align and distribute handles, so that they can be dragged and clicked. So that they have their own mode in the select tool.
