"Tool Controls Bar" slows down switching between windows (GtkStack performance)
For some reason re-layouting of the "Tool Controls Bar" seems to come with a significant performance overhead.
This becomes visible for example when switching between the main window and another dialog or window.
At least on Windows the transition of the window from the inactive state to the active state (or vice-versa) is very unsmooth and takes longer than desired (at least 0.5 seconds).
Hiding the "Tool Controls Bar" (see below) makes the issue go away almost completely.
!1028 (closed) is an (incomplete) attempt to avoid this performance overhead. It helps a bit, but is still significantly slower than hiding the toolbar completely.
Edit: I also couldn't pin it to any particular tool - some slowdown seems to be happening for all of them.
