Clipping path/mask lost on Stroke to Path (if no fill on path)
Reported by @Dthe6 in inbox#7645, cloned here
Summary:
I was referred to create an issue post here: https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/more-clipping-path-problems/
When I make strokes and try clipping them, I run into one of two issues. The first is when I have my preferences set to "do not group clipped objects". The clipping itself works fine, but when I try to convert the stroke into paths, the clipping mask just completely vanishes. So I changed my preferences to "put every clipped object into its own group". When doing this, I appear to be unable to select the stroke and see the clipped mask itself when using the node tool even with the option selected to make it visible. In order to actually see it, I need to deselect everything, select it with the selection tool, then switch to the node tool instead of just being able to select it with the node tool, like I was able to do in past versions.
Steps to reproduce:
(Preferences: Do Not Group)
- Run Inkscape
- Create an object (stroke, no fill).
- Create another object.
- Clip the topmost object to the one underneath.
- Convert stroke to paths.
What happened?
- Clip lost
What should have happened?
- Clip or mask kept, like it is when the path has a fill and stroke.

Keep generic attributes with "Simplify" et. al
Keep generic attributes and child nodes when doing path conversion like
"Simplify", "Object To Path", "Combine", Inset/Outset or Boolean operations.
