Inkscape 1.2 and invalid tools: Arc, 3DBox
Summary:
I cannot invoke tools for drawing
- circles, ellipses and arcs (E)
- 3D Boxes (X).
Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape
- click on icon for drawing circles (or use shortcut E)
- click on icon for drawin 3D boxex (or use shortcut X)
- The problem occurred after upgrading from previous version of Inkscape to version 1.2 (ppa:inkscape.dev/stable) on Ubuntu 20.04.4.
What happened?
It does nothing. These tools do not work.
I can see icons for these tools, but they do nothing. The keyboard shortcuts for these tool also do nothing. The parameters setting bar of these tools does not appear either. After selecting one of these tools, the last selected tool remains active.
I ran inkscape from the command line and when I try to use these tools it says:
tool-switch: invalid tool name: Arc
tool-switch: invalid tool name: 3DBox
I tried to switch translation from Czech to English, but it does not affect the problem.
I deleted the local configuration files in ~/.config, but it also had no effect.
I tried the version from ppa for Ubuntu (ppa:inkscape.dev/stable). I upgraded it from previous version. I tried the AppImage too, but both variants seem to have the same problem.
If I open some previous drawing with circle, I can edit it (like make it ellipse or arc, change dimensions), but the setting box still does not appear.
What should have happened?
After selecting the Circle, Ellipse and Arc tool or the 3D Box tool, the correct setting bar should appear and I should be able to draw circles, ellipses and 3D boxes.
