Inkscape export is confusing
Summary:
Inkscape's saving behavior is quite confusing when opened a non SVG file. An open JPG for example is not treated as SVG when "saving".
Steps to reproduce:
- Open "Open/Import" dialog via the menu bar
- Select some raster file format (eg .jpg)
- Type CTRL + S
- Observe that the export dialog appears first
- Click on app close button
- Observe two closing dialogs
What happened?
CTRL + S displayed the export before saving a .SVG, and two dialogs (export and save, in this order) are displayed when trying to close the program.
What should have happened?
Work like all other editing programs (eg GIMP, LibreOffice): opening a non editable file format should lead, in the end (CTRL + S or close button), to saving, not exporting.
I don't think it's a problem that a raster format can be opened by an Open dialog, as it is practical (Inkscape already adjusts the page size and everything), but the save dialog should appear before the export dialog, as the user requested it Save and not Export before.
