Inkscape open/save is ambiguous
Summary:
The file formats supported by Inkscape, which fortunately are many, are positioned weirdly in all the four IO dialogs (opening/importing, saving, and exporting), causing an very ambiguous UX (see the steps)
Steps to reproduce (menu bar -> file):
- Open "Open/Import" dialog
- Observe missing formats but present in the Save dialog (eg .pov, .sif)
- Open "Save" dialog
- Observe some lossy formats that should be in the "Export" one or in another dialog (eg. gpl)
What happened?
Misplaced file formats displayed in the IO dialogs.
What should have happened?
Work like all other editing programs (eg GIMP, LibreOffice): opening and saving dialogs must have a almost 1:1 list of supported file types. The lossy (normally raster) formats for output must appear only in the export dialogs not save.
