Inkcape does not allow for multiple pages
Summary:
being able to edit multi-pages documents would be an appreciable feature, especially when dealing with double-sided documents
however, SVG specifications do not allow for multiple pages.
Inkscape should conform to SVG specs (see second comment)
Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape
- fiddle around with the dialogs and settings
- close Inkscape
- read the SVG specifications
- go for a walk
- come back and write a bug report
Workaround
Since it is possible for editors to add their own properties to the XML (such as sodipodi-watever) Layers can be used to create sub-pages in a a document.
UI features
in this case, it MUST be easy (with keyboard shortcuts) to show/hide the recto or verso of the currently edited page (preferably with settable alpha/darkness) ; the "other" side should obviously be mirrored and a shortcut to flip the page should be available (with or without mirroring, because it could get confusing and unpractical for the user to have to search again for a feature that needs a minor adjustment and gets suddenly "thrown away" on the other side of the document (can really be an issue with high zoom levels if precautions are not take)
