Shortcut to recenter the view / pan page to center
I would like a feature that pans the view to center the page within the viewport. This would complement the manual panning (via Space+Mouse, Middle-Mouse, Ctrl+Arrows). Centering is something I do frequently enough that a shortcut would improve my workflow.
I work a lot with page boundaries when producing graphics of specific sizes. The page becomes my output space, rendered by the Export PNG function. As this is the focus of my work, it makes sense that I'd like to bring it back to the center on occassion.
The problems with it being off-center is that it upsets the visual balance, making sizes harder to judge. It also forces me to look in a different direction on a larger monitor -- I prefer looking straight forward for most of the time.
The zooming feature is implemented as a zoom-on-point feature. This means that through zooming in/out the image will frequently be panned. Most of the panning I experience is not intentional, it's a result of the zooming behaviour.
Steps to reproduce:
- create a drawing
- zoom/pan a while until graphic is not centered
- Press "Center" shortcut key
- page is now centered in the viewport
What happened?
There is no "Center" option. :)
