Major grid overwrite minor grids while overlapping other grid colors
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Inkscape
- Create a Rectangular Grids that overlap just like:
GRID | APPERANCE |
---|---|
- Zoom in and out to look at how it behaves.
- Create a Secondary Rectangular Grid just like:
GRID | APPERANCE |
---|---|
- Zoom out.
WITHOUT | WITH |
---|---|
look at how the brilliant major grid completely overwrites both other minor and major grid
- Now set that brilliant color to 100% alpha and zoom in.
BEFORE | AFTER |
---|---|
You will note alpha spaces, but there is a grid availabe... Well two grids really (four guide intersections)
What should have happened?
At the very least, minor grids should be shown in its guide intersections with major guides if they are alpha 100%.
Also, if there is a bigger grid that conflicts with a small grid, then the small grid shouldn't be shown.
A complete solution can be more complex settings, where we could enable or disable multiple grid layers, making major grids automatically unnecessary.
Here, every rectangular grid has a major grid that fits with the other grid (minor or major depending on the case), so if we set it as alpha, the alpha hole will not be visible. We can stack this to make multicolor grids with adaptative zooming:

This is my default.svg.
Its grids are designed to perfect-fit a 1080px X 1080px canvas while oferring some standard (to my needs) and dinamycal spaces between grids.
