DESCRIPTION
I would like to have two lines in a tooltip of a node. E.g. when I hover my mouse over a node named A, it will show the following tooltip:
-----------------
the first line
the second line
-----------------
But it doesn't work for using "\n". Here is the code:
graph G {
A [tooltip="the first line \n the second line"]
}
I have tried to replace \n with , but it doesn't work.
However, if i replace \n with !, it successfully shows the ! character.
Hence, I wonder if it is a bug for not allowing
or graphviz simply doesn't support multiline tooltip.
In addition, is there any way for me to have multiline in tooltip? Thanks.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
graph G {
A [tooltip="the first line \n the second line"]
}
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
[erg] At last check, there is no standard way to specify multiline tooltips for
all browsers. Some people have found embedding
works for some browsers.
That is, set
tooltip="the first line the second line"]
This works in Safari but not in Firefox.
There are also examples on the web showing how to achieve this using javascript.
