Support complete Roboto font

Please support complete Roboto font on at least Ubuntu and Debian for rendering at least in SVG and PNG. For details, see below.

We just rely on cairopango and/or fontconfig. Does dot -v show what is happening? What does fc-match turn up?

The fc-list command is part of fontconfig. I've tried many combination to try to get it to work. See:

Is there a workaround for this or does the font resolving need to get improved?

Ah, I have noticed that it is also the SVG rendering in geeqie that is not accurate. Looking at this path .gv -> graphviz dot -> .svg -> inkscape command line -> .png these are the results, also with what fc-match tells me:

Rendering directly to PNG is much better. Working:

• Roboto Condensed Medium Italic
• RobotoCondensed Medium Italic
• RobotoCondensedMedium Italic

Not working:

• RobotoCondensed MediumItalic
• RobotoCondensedMediumItalic
• Roboto Condensed MediumItalic

Using a colon never works with fc.

fc-matching is indeed the best way. Rendering to svg and with inkscape to png usually fails for specific fonts. That may be improved.

Doesn’t -Tsvg:cairo embed the fonts?

Looks like this was sorted out (though I can't totally tell). Closing. FWIW I'm able to see Roboto when I use SVG output and open in a browser.
