The opam package relies on merlin-lib-4.6.414, forcing a specific version of the compiler
Hi,
I tried to install gopcaml-mode-merlin using opam, but the constraints where unsatisfiable. After some investigation I think the problem comes from the fact that gopcaml-mode-merlin relies on merlin-lib-4.6.414, which only works with OCaml 4.14 (but I have to use older versions of OCaml on projects that do not yet support the latest compilers).
I guess merlin-lib heavily depends on the compiler version, but it would be nice if there were a way for gopcaml-mode-merlin to depend on the version corresponding to the current opam switch.
Currently I created a switch for ocaml 4.14 and succeeded in installing it; I hope that I will be able to use gopcaml-mode-merlin (installed on the 4.14 switch) even if the current switch is not OCaml 4.14. If this succeeds, I think it would be nice to explain this installation procedure in the documentation.
Thanks for gopcaml-mode, I hope that I will be able to test it soon!
