Window arrangements opened at launch are now NARROWER than they ought to be
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
- iTerm2 version: 3.4.8
- OS version: macOS Mojave 10.14.6
- Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here (drag-drop from finder into this window)
- Attach a debug log, if possible. Instructions at https://iterm2.com/debuglog
- Attach a screen capture video if it would make the reproduction steps clearer.
- Are you reporting a performance issue, excessive CPU usage, or a hang? Please attach a sample. Instructions at https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/HowToSample
- Are you reporting a crash? Please attach the crash log. Instructions at https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/crash-logs
- Are you reporting excessive memory usage? Please attach a heap analysis: https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/heapshot
PLEASE ATTACH YOUR PLIST FILE FOR BUG REPORTS! Seriously! I'll probably ask you for it if you don’t.
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
- I've resized two windows, side-by-side to exactly 960x1012 (Half of a 1920x1024 screen) — which works out to 155x72 characters at Monaco 10, with the tab/scroll/status bars
- Window » Save Window Arrangement »
- Quit
- Restart
What happened:
Similar to #2265, my windows are now 153x72. I've disabled the "Ensure windows are entirely within the bounds of the current displays", but it seems like it's trying to leave a margin around the window, slash not letting them overlap, or something... Another possibility is it's trying to snap the size to exact multiples of the character widths, even though I've enabled "Terminal windows resize smoothly".
PS — This just started happening when I upgraded to the latest release, so it may be a regression... Thanks! :-D
What should have happened:
The windows should have stayed where I put them.
