Issue with Fish shell integration

Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
- Use fish shell 3.1.2 from Homebrew.
- Install shell integration.
- Open a new tab.
What happened:
Last login: Wed Dec 30 23:00:38 on ttys004
~/.config/fish/config.fish: Expected end of the statement, but instead found end of the input
from sourcing file ~/.config/fish/config.fish
called during startup

What should have happened:
.iterm2_shell_integration.fish
should not be broken.
It seems to be a new problem with fish 3.1.2.
