"Broken pipe" on opening a new session

- OS version: 10.15.4
- Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here: com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
- Attach a debug log, if possible: debuglog.txt
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:

- Open a terminal tab or split pane or window
What happened: "Session ended (broken pipe). Restart it?"
What should have happened: A new tab/window
This is new since I updated from version 3.3.
I found #9113 (closed), but I have no running iTermServer processes (or any processes whose name contains iTerm but is not exactly iTerm).
