Getting into strange "modes" (bad scrolling and pasting)
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
- iTerm2 version: 3.3.12
- OS version: MacOS 10.15.6
- Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here (drag-drop from finder into this window)
- Attach a debug log, if possible. Instructions at https://iterm2.com/debuglog
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem: I don't know. I use iterm2 daily on my macbook with bash, vim, etc. and ssh to linux (bash, vim, etc.).
What happened: Occasionally, since the last iterm2 update, iterm2 gets into one of two bad "modes" in a single tab. I do not know the trigger.
Problem 1: Sometimes it stops scrolling (two finger macbook scroll). Instead of scrolling back I get lots of Bonks (BELL?) and garbage in the command line. Other tabs scroll well.
Problem 2: Paste (CMD-v or right-click->Paste) stops working. The paste results in an altered version of of the paste contents. Paste works in other tabs.
What should have happened: I'd like to avoid this mode or be able to get back to my "normal" mode without killing the tab.
