the color profile being used doesn't allow as bright of colors as Terminal.app

The colors that we are allowed to set for text seems like a subset of the color range that Terminal.app uses.
- Open one Terminal.app window alongside an iTerm2 window.
- Paste this into both windows:
printf '\e[0;31mplain\n\e[0;91mhighlight\n\e[0m' - In iTerm2, open Preferences -> Profiles -> Colors (using xterm, not xterm-256color)
- Try to set the red highlight color to match what Terminal.app has, by using the magnifying glass in the color control to choose the exact color that Terminal is using for the reds.
I'd like to see the red highlight color as bright as Terminal.app's.
What I actually see:
The highlight color isn't as bright. Using Mac OS X's bundled DigitalColor Meter, the color being used for the highlight color in Terminal.app is #FC391F, while the one being used in iTerm is #DF471D. When you try to grab the bright color using the magnifying glass, you will see an indication that the color was clipped (it looks like a small triangle at the top right)
