Switch split pane with ALT+number eats ALT+9 (left bracket).

Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
- Enable ALT+number as Switch between split panes
- Have less than 9 split panes (even an unsplit window)
- Press ALT+9
What happened: Nothing
What should have happened: Typing a left bracket. This is very noticeable for a system admin :)
Note that the other number keys work as expected, for instance if there are two split panes then ALT+1 and ALT+2 selects them, while ALT+3 to ALT+8 (and ALT+0) produce the input character they usually do. There must be an off-by-one error somewhere.
