Unable to completely erase line of text that is 10 characters or longer

Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
- Enter input >= 10 characters
- Clear entire line with ctrl + k
What happened: The first 10 items remain, visually but aren't actually apart of the input buffer.
What should have happened: Remove the first 10 items from the view.clear
