"New iTerm Tab Here" on a file opens at /, not "here"
tl;dr
These services don't work on files:
I'm not sure they're intended to. :) Maybe this is a feature request?
Debug info
- iTerm2 version: 3.0.20170106-nightly
- OS version: 10.12.2
- Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here (drag-drop from finder into this window) com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
- Attach a debug log, if possible. Instructions at https://iterm2.com/debuglog
- Are you reporting a performance issue or a hang? Please attach a sample. Instructions at https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/HowToSample
- Are you reporting a crash? Please attach the crash log. Instructions at https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/crash-logs
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
- In System Preference -> Shortcuts -> Services, enable "New iTerm2 Tab Here" and "New iTerm2 Window Here"
- In Finder, right-click any file (not folder), and click either iTerm option
What happened:
A new tab or window opens at /
.
What should have happened:
A new tab or window opens at the directory containing the selected file (so, ~/play
). At least, that's what I was expecting :)
If a folder is selected instead of a file, the expected behaviour occurs - it just seems like the service isn't written for files, or is broken for files.
