Cannot download update through internal software update

What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Open iTerm2
- Either wait for automatic version test or use menu option "iTerm -> Check For Update"
- Receive window that a new version is available: "1.0.0.20140629"
- Click "Install Update"
What is the expected output?
What do you see instead?
An error is instantly returned with subject "Update failed!" and content "An error occurred while downloading the update. Please try again later." (see screenshot)
What version of iTerm2 are you using?
Build 1.0.0.20140518
What OS version are you using?
Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.4
Please provide any additional information below.
Not behind firewall or proxy. Attempted from at least 3 different geo locations with direct access to internet (including a uk vpn).
