Sync config changes via Dropbox link often not propagated as one would hope

Hi,
I use Dropbox to try to synchronize my iTerm2 configurations to multiple computers by software linking ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist to a file in my Dropbox.
This mostly works, but it seems that if multiple iTerm2 instances are running on different machines, the changes to the file aren't noticed by the one that didn't write the file. My best guess is that iTerm2 reads the file on startup and writes to the file either when you make a change and/or at periodic intervals and/or when it quits. If I want to add a new profile or edit a configuration, I must make sure iTerm2 is stopped on all other computers before making the change or it is likely that my change will disappear at some point in the near future (and generally never be found on the other computers, if they were running iTerm2 when I made the change).
It would be nice if this file was monitored for changes and re-loaded or the user asked if the file should be reloaded.
I don't often make configuration or changes, but when I do, I generally don't remember to hunt down the computers that have iTerm2 running (because I almost always have iTerm2 running on all of my Macs, I spend a LOT of time on the command line and find iTerm2 indispensable).
Please keep up the good work: I switched from PC to Mac BECAUSE of iTerm2, and I've been using Windows daily since Windows 3.0.
What version of iTerm2 are you using: Build 1.0.0.20140112
