locale isn't set properly via LANG
By vyego... on November 05, 2010 10:06 (imported from Google Code)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Update your .profile like: echo "export LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8" >> .profile
- Close iTerm2 and open up again
- Check the locale output
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected (this is the behaviour of Mac OS X Terminal):
$ locale
LANG="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_CTYPE="UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
What I get is:
$ locale
LANG="ru_RU.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="C"
LC_CTYPE="C"
LC_MESSAGES="C"
LC_MONETARY="C"
LC_NUMERIC="C"
LC_TIME="C"
LC_ALL=
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.20.20101102
Please provide any additional information below.
As I see that 2 different terminal applications do behave differently, I suppose this an issue in iTerm rather with my configuration.
