New windows from iTerm2-associated scripts are opened in new tab instead of new window

What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Create a short shell script to open a remote host, for example:
#!/bin/sh
exec ssh remote.example.com
2. Associate the script with iTerm2 in the Finder
3. Run the script by double-clicking it in Finder, or typing "open scriptname" at the terminal
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A new terminal is opened, but it appears as a new tab in some existing iTerm2 window, instead of a new window. Up until a recent upgrade, it opened in a new window, which is the behavior that works much better for me.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
iTerm2 1.0.0.20130310 on MacOS 10.6.8
